Cafe website design for Sydney cafes
Someone is two streets away with your website open in one hand and a coffee decision in the other. Cafe website design, done properly, answers them in about four seconds: are you open, where exactly are you, what have you got. Everything else on the page can wait its turn.

Those three answers are the whole job, and most cafe sites bury all three under a full screen photograph of a flat white and a paragraph about the owner's trip to Italy. The trip can stay. It just goes further down the page.
So hours, address and menu go where a thumb lands first, with today's hours said plainly instead of a seven row table the reader has to decode while walking.
Phone first, always. Nobody plans a coffee at a desk.
Your menu, two ways
- Opens in a separate viewer, and takes its time about it.
- Arrives at ten percent zoom, laid out for A4, read in a palm.
- Needs somebody else every time the price of eggs moves.
- Invisible to Google, so nobody searching for your bagel finds it.
- Loads with the page, reads at phone size, no pinching.
- Grouped the way you actually serve: all day, breakfast, cabinet.
- You change an item in a minute, from your phone, during a lull.
- Readable by search engines, so your dishes get found by name.
What cafe website design has to get right
Four jobs. Everything else is decoration, and we like decoration, but it comes second.
How someone ends up at your counter
Three moves, usually. Any one of them can lose the walk-in.
- 01They search for coffee near themNot your cafe by name. Google answers with a map, and your site and your listing have to agree with each other to be in it.
- 02They check you are openThis is where most cafes lose them. If the answer is not visible straight away, the next result is one swipe off and it looks more certain.
- 03They tap for directions, or they ringAddress and phone number as buttons, not as text somebody has to copy out. One tap to call, one tap to start walking.
The orders worth the most
Catering, functions, wholesale beans, venue hire. The biggest tickets, and usually the hardest things to find on a cafe website.
- A catering page with what you actually send out, minimum numbers and how much notice you need.
- A function and venue hire enquiry that asks the date, the headcount and the occasion.
- Wholesale beans, your roast notes, and a simple way to ask for a sample.
- Gift vouchers somebody can buy at eleven at night without walking in.
- Every enquiry landing in your inbox and on your phone, not a form that quietly fails.
- A line about what fills your quiet hours: long tables, laptops welcome, dogs in the courtyard.
The things people ask
How much does a cafe website cost?
There is no fixed price, because no two sites need the same things. We quote on what yours actually needs once we have talked about it. Before any of that, we build you a free preview so you can see the work before you decide anything. No obligation, nothing to pay.
Can I change the menu myself?
Yes, from your phone, standing at the till. Specials and prices move far too often for that to need an email to us. We set it up so swapping an item or crossing off the last of the banana bread takes a minute.
I have Instagram and a Google listing. Why a website?
Those two are good at reminding people you exist and putting you on a map. Neither one tells somebody whether the kitchen is still doing breakfast, what a long black costs, or who to email about catering for forty. The website holds the answers, and it is the only one of the three you own.
Do I need online ordering?
Only if it earns its keep. Pickup orders suit some cafes and get ignored at others, and a quiet order button looks worse than no button at all. Catering enquiries and gift vouchers are usually the two that pay for themselves. If we think you do not need it, we will say so.
Will it help me show up on Google Maps?
It supports your listing, it does not replace it. The map result is its own thing, and it does best when your site and your listing agree on address, hours and phone number. We tell you exactly what to line up, and the listing stays yours.
We have no decent photos. Is that a problem?
No. Most of what sells a cafe online is words and hours, not photography. A handful of honest phone shots of the food and the room beats anything from a stock library, so we build around what you have and swap better ones in later.
Other things we do
And other people we do them for.
